The Craigslist Credo: More Minimal!

The struggle to serve hundreds of markets using a one-size-fits-all method accounts for some of the most unusual and at times amusing features of craigslist. In this post I'm just going to try to give a quick sketch of the challenges facing the normal players in the online classifieds industry. The point is to explain one of things about craigslist that is hardest to grasp: its function as a non-commercial marketplace.

EBay Sells Majority Skype Stake To Investors Including Andreessen; Company Valued at $2.75 Billion

Ebay has agree to sell Skype to a group of private investors including Netscape co-founder Marc Andreessen in a deal which values the internet telephony company at $2.75 billion. The investors will pony up $1.9 billion in cash for a 65% stake.
